Motorcyclist dies after running off Eastern Townships highway
A man in his 40s died Monday night after apparently losing control of his motorcycle and skidding off a Sherbrooke-area highway.
The Sûreté du Québec said the driver, who was alone on the motorcycle, lost control of the vehicle at 9:10 p.m. on Route 143 in Val-Joli, about 15 kilometres north of Sherbrooke.

The victim was found by passersby and taken to hospital in critical condition. He later died of his injuries.
Provincial police are investigating the incident and suspect excessive speed may have played a role in the crash.
