Heritage Authority, “Geospatial” Signs MoU on Geospatial Information

The Heritage Authority signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information. This cooperation aims to achieve a partnership between the two bodies in the geospatial information field.

The memorandum aims to raise the level of cooperation in providing geospatial services to the heritage sector by applicable regulations and policies. It also includes the possibility of benefiting from all the services provided by the Authority, information, capacity building, and organizing seminars and workshops.

In addition, it supports efforts to introduce the products and works of both parties and coordinate media campaigns and media publishing. The memorandum of understanding included the exchange of information and data on common platforms through the electronic link.

The two parties seek to cooperate regarding the possibility of benefiting from digital twinning. They aim to use the official map of the Kingdom and benefit from geographical information systems.

MoU and Investment

This collaboration holds great promise for the conservation and promotion of historical landmarks and monuments. Furthermore, the MoU outlines the development of a comprehensive database of heritage sites, including detailed information on their historical significance.

The collaboration between the Heritage Authority and Geospatial represents a powerful synergy between tradition and innovation, heritage preservation and technological advancement.
